Thanks so much to all the parents who brought in cakes, buns, scones and bracks for our Halloween cake sale today. We raised a very impressive E655.81 which will all go towards the Irish Cancer Society and C.A.R.E cancer support group for South Tipperary. A big thank you also to all the pupils and staff who ran the day superbly!
Just to let everyone know the Thurles Cross Country competition races were screened on the Tipperary Matters programme on Irish TV on Saturday the 18th October. Irish TV often repeat programmes so keep an eye out for all the races on channel 191 or through their website www.irishtv.ie
Reminder to all of the Ballyneale N.S cake sale tomorrow [Friday] from 12-3pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and buy treats and goodies and also some beautiful hand-made items by students and staff! All proceeds are going towards the Irish Cancer Society’s breast cancer awareness campaign – ‘Paint it Pink’ and C.A.R.E cancer suppport group for South Tipperary. See you tomorrow!
The boys and girls from 3rd to 6th class had a fantastic day at the Primary Schools Cross Country in Marlfield today. With up to 100 running in each race, everyone was proud of their performance. We had two individual gold medals and the girls from 3rd to 6th won first place overall.
Erin Hanrahan [4th] and Hazel McFadden [6th] both came first in their races.
The 3rd and 4th class girl teams came 2nd, 5th and 6th and overall won first place.
The 3rd and 4th class boy teams came 7th and 15th.
The 5th and 6th class girl team came 1st.
The 5th and 6th class boy team came 3rd.
Here is class teacher Ms. Whelan with some of the girls who won the shield for coming first overall. Congratulations to everyone for running their hardest and for such a fantastic, positive attitude on the day!

Hard luck to the under 13 Football team who were beaten by Rosegreen this Thursday. The team put up a good fight. They now play Tankerstown to stay in the competition.
