We had a lovely sunny day for our nature walk in Kilcash woods last week. Pupils from 3rd to 6th were given the task of finding native hedgerow plants and trees on our walk. Some of the favourite plants were fuschia and ferns, favourite trees were sweet chestnut and the oak tree. We gathered leaves and fruit from different trees. Some trees were felled so we talked about what trees are used for and we looked at the rings of the cut trunks to tell their age. We enjoyed our Autumn walk in nature.
