A water awareness day was held last Tuesday in the school.
The children dressed in blue on the day and brought in €2 for the Carrick River Rescue. Altogether E200 was raised by the pupils for this very important local group whose premises were hit badly by the recent floods in Carrick-on-Suir.
There were prizes for the best dressed boy and girl and the pupils took part in an art competition. We also listened to the creative and catchy water slogans created.
All pupils undertook class lessons under the theme of water and how its conservation is very important. Pupils from the Green School Committee and 6th class made graphs showing all the water the children saved by placing 1 litre water bottles in the cisterns and by also using the water butt in the school garden.
