Proclamation Day

Busy day here as Ballyneale School along with all schools in Ireland, marked Proclamation Day.

At noon, pupils, staff, parents, grandparents and members of the community raised the flag of Ireland and sang Amhrán na bhFiann.

Afterwards all pupils along with Jane’s Montessori released green, white and orange balloons thanks to the Parents Association.

This was followed with poetry and song and the reading of New Proclamations for Ireland composed by Infants to 6th Class.

A short drama directed by Mary O’Hanlon and based on the events leading up to the signing of the 1916 Proclamation then took place.

It was a very special and memorable day here in Ballyneale School.
