Cake Sale

We had a very busy day here in Ballyneale NS with our Cake Sale, which once again has proved to be a wonderful success.

Moneys raised this year is for Neuroblastoma Research and will greatly help their cause. We were delighted to have Annette, Kate and Anna Comerford here today, who are advocates for the said charity. Annette is taking part in the Marathon in Dublin this Monday fundraising for Neuroblastoma Research under the slogan “Running for a Cure”. Fair play and we wish her well!

We were delighted to help out in any way we can. A special word of thanks must go to Megan O’Meara who put the idea of Neuroblastoma Research forward as the charity of choice for our annual Cake Sale.

Shoe Box Appeal 2016



As a school we are taking part in the national drive for Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. Shoeboxes have been sent home with the children this week, inside which is a note explaining how it works. If you choose to take part, the Shoeboxes need to be back before or on Wednesday, November 9th.

Thanks very much to Phelans Shoes who very generously supplied the shoeboxes.

Training for the Futsal Competion will begin the week we come back after the Mid -Term. Training will be for 3rd and 4th class.

U13 Girls Football

The Girls U13 football final will be staged the week we return after the Mid-term break. Final details of date, time and venue are yet to be determined, their opposition is Moyne who came through on the other side of the competition. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Cornelius McFadden and Ms Whelan who have been putting in a massive effort preparing the girls for the Final.

Little Red Kettle

The Waterford drama group “Little Red Kettle” will be visiting the school on November 14th, from 12 – 1 p.m.
