This week the school entered the Today FM Ian Dempsey Show competition to try and win E10,000 for the school from Keelings Fruit Company. We were unsuccessful but the whole school got involved in coming up with ideas! The Primary Schools Cross Country Championship is on next Wednesday the 27th September in the Crokes Complex in Thurles. Ballyneale is competing in Session 2 which starts at 11.30 am. Ballyneale Girls will be playing a hurling blitz on Tuesday the 3rd October at 11.30 am in Moyle Rovers. They will be playing in group B against Kilcash, Drangan, Ballyporeen, Gaelscoil Carrick and New Inn. The boys are playing an under 13, 7 a side hurling blitz against Moyne, Ballytarsna and Anacarty. A futsal [indoor soccer] competition takes place for 3rd and 4th class next Tuesday the 26th September in Cahir Park AFC at 10 am. Pupils are asked to contribute E2 towards cost of transport. We are grateful to the Parents Association who are generously subsidising the cost of transport.

Any child interested in participating in the School Swimming Munster Championships in Limerick need to contact Ms. Whelan. The child needs to be in 1st to 6th class and capable of swimming lengths and diving into the pool.
Cross Country Training takes place next Wednesday the 20th after school from 3-4pm with Ms. Whelan.
Futsal takes place after school next Tuesday the 19th with Ian Sheehan from 3-4pm.
Sarah Bartley competed in the Community Games All Ireland Finals on the 19th of August. She represented Tipperary in the 60m Sprint and after qualifying on the day in both the heat and semi-final, she came 5th in the final, just pipped for a medal! Well done Sarah.
