Easter Walk and Egg Hunt

Thank you to all parents and family members who attended the Easter walk around the block this morning.  We had a lovely spring day that made it all the more enjoyable.  Classes took part in an Easter egg hunt around the school grounds after the walk.

The school reopens on Monday the 9th March.


School Trips

The following are dates and destinations for our school trips:

Junior and Senior Infants: Friday 18th May –Parson’s


First and Second Class:  Wednesday 23rd May – Kingfisher, Waterford;

Third – Sixth Class:  To be finalised.

G.A.A. Upcoming Events

U13 Hurling 10th April at 11am in Newcastle;

Camogie U13 11th April at 11am in Clerihan;

Clonmel District Community Gardaí Primary School Gaelic Football Blitz 11th April Moyle Rovers GAA Complex at 11.30am;

U11 Hurling 19th April in Cloneen at 11.30am;

Camogie U11 25th April in Cloneen at 11.30am.

First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion for our 2nd Class pupils will take place on Sunday 20th May at 12.30.


Confirmation Ceremony will take place in St. Mary’s Church, Ballyneale on Tuesday 24th April at 2pm.  Pupils from 3rd and 4th Class will participate in the school choir.  Further details will be given nearer the day.

Junior Achievement

Bríd Flynn is facilitating the Junior Achievement Programme with 5th and 6th class.  We thank all the volunteers for giving of their time and their employers Merck, Sharpe and Dohme.


Soccer training is continuing.  We thank Ian and Sandra Sheehan and Miss Whelan for coaching.  Three teams (boys and girls) recently represented the school in Cahir as part of the FAI Primary Schools 5-a-side Competition (South Tipperary Qualifiers).  One of the teams has reached the finals stage of the County Tipperary Qualifier which will be held in Littleton on 26th April and we wish them the very best of luck.
