On Tuesday, pupils, staff and parents gathered to celebrate the raising of our Green Flag for Travel. Ms. Dempsey, the Green School committee and Mr. McHale spoke about how the school and parents managed to earn the Green Flag for Travel.
Afterwards, special guest, Mark O’Meara a former pupil of Ballyneale and now Captain of the Tipperary Minor Football team helped raise the flag.
Well done to Ms. Dempsey and all the pupils and parents involved.
Heather from Dogs Trust and Ted her rescue dog came to the school today to collect the food donations and knitted blankets for their rescue centres.
Thank you to all those who took the time to knit blankets for the dogs and who gave food and toys for them. It was much appreciated by Heather on behalf of Dogs Trust.
Girls from 3rd to 6th will be taking part in an International Girls Day event in Carrick on Suir RFC on Monday the 25th June from 11 – 1.30 pm.
The girls will get a chance to meet with International and Munster players and take part in skills, games and fun.
Congratulations to Sarah Bartley of 2nd class who recently won two gold medals and a silver at the Munster Athletics Championships. She will now be competing in the All Irelands on the 1st July. We also wish her sister Eibhlís the best of luck as she competes in her Division 2 time in the 50 metre Freestyle swimming in the National Swimming Championship in UL on the 7th July.
5th and 6th class are going on a cycle on the Greenway on Wednesday the 20th June.
Sports Day is on the 21st June.
End of year mass is on Friday the 22nd June at 10am.
The raising of the Green Flag for Travel takes place tomorrow Tuesday the 12th June at 1.30pm. All are welcome to attend.
Parents are invited to an informative ‘Induction Meeting’ for parents only, in Ballyneale National School next Thursday the 14th June at 2.15pm. This informal gathering will give you the opportunity to meet with other parents of new Junior Infant pupils enrolling for the 2018/2019 school year. Whilst discussing the daily routine of the school, we will endeavour to address all queries or concerns that you may have.
