Active Home Week 27th April – 4th May

‘Active SCHOOL Week’ takes place annually and is a really enjoyable part of the school year for many children. This year, because of Covid-19 it is not possible for this to go ahead so we are inviting the families of Ballyneale NS to participate in the ‘Active HOME Week’ challenge instead.

The main aim of Active Week is to raise awareness about the fact that children need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.

To complete the challenge, children have to find four different ways of being active every day making sure that this adds up to 60 MINUTES, or more. Children are encouraged to try something NEW, have FUN with a family activity and to ENJOY the week!

A diary grid should be kept and emailed to nikkiballyneale2020@hotmail.com at the end of the week detailing all of the activities that you did. It is important that we get as many of these returned as possible. These will be used as to show we completed Active Home Week when submitting our application to renew the flag. The grid can be filled out on a computer and laptop.

A seperate website post will be published filled with active ideas. Keep an eye on the website throughout the week for further ideas.

The most important part of this week is to HAVE FUN while being active.
