As part of the school’s recognition of Sam Bennett’s fantastic achievement in the Tour de France 2020, the Student Council held a non-uniform day Friday 25th September. Pupils were asked to wear something green – this was anything from a jersey/hoodie/jumper/tracksuit/hair grips/socks etc.
A donation of 1 euro was requested per pupil. The amount raised was 200 euros. Sam requested that a local childrens charity would receive the proceeds and to honour his request all proceeds were donated to Barnardos (Clonmel branch).
Joanne O’Gorman and Mary O’Gorman from Barnardos (Clonmel) attended the school to receive the cheque on Monday 5th October. They were absolutely thrilled with the donation. They hope to buy art supplies and board games with the donation and thanked the Student Council for their work in organising the event.
