We have decided, along with our Student Council, that this year we will try to support The Rotary Club of Clonmel and the Irish United Nations Veterans Association Branch in Clonmel in their efforts to send basic school equipment and medical aid to the Irish Army and Rotary in the Lebanon, where it will be distributed to the needy as part of a UNIFIL project. They are asking for donations of medical basic aid items – PPE, facemasks, gloves, hand sanitiser, bandages, plasters and basic first aid kits and school basic literacy aid – copybooks, stationery etc.
The literacy aid will be sent to the south Lebanon area and the medical aid will be donated to the people of Beirut, where a devastating explosion in August left 350,000 people homeless overnight.
We need to have donated items in the school by Tuesday the 20th October. We apologise for the short notice. We are doing this project instead of the Shoe Box Appeal this year as Team Hope have changed to online donations.
Thank you for your tremendous support to these projects in the past.
Kind regards,
Michael McHale and Ballyneale NS Student Council
