Sports Day

The annual sports day took place yesterday in the school.  In the morning teams rotated in station activities and in the afternoon they competed in the field events of egg and spoon, sack, three legged race and running races.

Thank you to the Parents Association for organising drinks and fruit during the day.

GAA Garda Blitz

A mixed team from 3rd and 4th class took part in a GAA Garda Blitz on Wednesday.  They were up against stiff competition but never gave up.  The pupils were given hot food and refreshments during the day and a certificate for their participation.

 

International Girls Day

Girls from 3rd to 6th will be taking part in an International Girls Day event in Carrick on Suir RFC on Monday the 25th June from 11 – 1.30 pm.

The girls will get a chance to meet with International and Munster players and take part in skills, games and fun.

 

Primary Schools Athletics

The Inter Primary Schools Track and Field Competition took place in Clonmel on Wednesday.  Well done to all who participated on the day.

Results:

3rd and 4th class girls – A team – 1st place

3rd and 4th class girls – B team – 1st place

3rd and 4th class boys – A team – 3rd place

3rd and 4th class boys – B team – 3rd place

5th and 6th class girls – A team – 1st place

Soccer

Congratulations to our team who competed in the County Tipperary 5 a side soccer competition.  Out of 160 teams they got to the final four.  Well done all.

Blitzes

Under 11 and U13 girls and boys recently took part in school hurling blitzes.  The Under 13 boys in hurling continue on in their competition.

Well done to all who took part.

Easter Walk and Egg Hunt

Thank you to all parents and family members who attended the Easter walk around the block this morning.  We had a lovely spring day that made it all the more enjoyable.  Classes took part in an Easter egg hunt around the school grounds after the walk.

The school reopens on Monday the 9th March.
