The Waterford drama group “Little Red Kettle” will be visiting the school on November 14th, from 12 – 1 p.m.
Knitting will commence the week we return after Mid-term, it will be held every Wednesday from 3 – 4 p.m. from then.
The Christmas annuals are supplied by educate.ie this year. They cost €2 each. Order forms must be returned by November 11th. There are 4 different editions available, one for each classroom. We are very much looking forward to our 1916 history tour, where pupils from third to sixth will visit both Kilmainham Gaol and Glasnevin cemetery. This tour will take place on Friday November 11th, we will be leaving the school at 8am sharp. Information leaflets have been sent home.
The County Tipperary Athletic Association is holding a Primary Schools Cross Country event next Wednesday October 26th at the Marlfield GAA grounds in Clonmel. Pupils from third to sixth will be taking part, they having been training hard these past few weeks, everything is going really well. In this competition 3rd/4th will run 600m and 5th/6th will run 800m.
Drama lessons concluded with Amy Hill. The children enjoyed the six weeks of excitement and fun we had with Amy. We would like to say thanks to Amy, and secondly the Parents Association who had kindly subsidised these lessons.
We have been lucky to have been part of the artist in residence scheme. We have had Magueritte Kent to the school every Friday to share her skills and techniques with the children to produce a tapestry which will be displayed in the County Museum in Clonmel. The Girls U11 Football Blitz will take place in Moyle Rovers on Thursday October 13th at 11.30am. There are six teams involved. The other teams include Poulacapple, Kilcash, Kilvemnon, Moyglass and Cloneen.
The Boys U11 Football Blitz will take place in Ardfinnan on Wednesday October 12th at 11.30am. It is a 7 a side blitz. There are six teams involved. The other teams include Ardfinnan, Ballyporeen, Carrick on Suir Gaelscoil, Mullinahone and Rathkeevin.
Our 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes had a tour of Fethard with Terry Cunningham on Monday September 26th. They visited the different sites, learned about how people lived in a medieval town.
