Luke Broxson, 5th class was presented with a copy of “Heritage and History of our Schools” and a certificate last Tuesday as part of the Write a Book project ran by the Waterford Teachers Centre.  Luke’s article on the history of Ballyneale School has been included in the book.  For copies please contact the Waterford Teachers Centre.

Write a Book Project

Congratulations to Luke Broxson whose article on the history of Ballyneale National School has been included in a book, “Heritage and History of our Schools”.  This was part of a Write a Book project ran by the Waterford Teachers Centre.

The book will be launched in the Woodlands Hotel in Waterford City next Tuesday the 20th June at 6.30pm.  It will be launched by John Burke and his daugther Cathy, authors of the highly successful books Irelandopaedia and Historopaedia.

Luke will be presented with a copy of the book and a framed certificate.

 

Cake Decorating

Cake decorating lessons will have its last session next week. The children have absolutely loved decorating the cakes in their own style. We want to thank Siobhan and Sharon for all the effort that goes into preparing such sessions.

Camogie Blitz – Girls U13

The girls will be taking part in a blitz in Gortnahue on Wednesday April 5th, they are grouped with Donaskeagh, Rahealty and Gortnahue. There is no blitz final, top team goes through to the county final.

Hurling Blitz – Boys U13

There is a boys U13 blitz to be held on April 7th, we share a group with Fethard, Gaelscoil Carrick and Gortnahoe.

There is a Hurling Blitz on Wednesday April 5th in Moyle Rovers for the U13s, they are training very well each week under the keen eye of Cornelius McFadden.

Soccer:

The girls team did very well in Cahir this week in the South Tipperary Qualifier of the FAI Primary Schools 5-a-side Competition.  During the day they won 2 of their games and lost the final game of the day.They were extremely unlucky not get through to the next stage. Well done to them again.

Thank you again to Ian and Sandra for giving their time to coach the girls and boys on Thursday evenings the past few weeks.
