Mindful Monday
Mindful Monday takes place on Monday for all students in the school.
School Garden
Junior Infants helped plant some onion bulbs during the week. 4th Class also planted onion bulbs and garlic. These will grow over winter and be ready next summer. The young growth of the onions can be used for spring onions. Signs made by staff member Mary Walsh’s husband were also placed in the garden.
HPS Flag Raising
Yesterday the Health Promoting Schools Flag was raised in the school. Students from 5th and 6th class spoke to parents and pupils about all the activities that the pupils were doing during the year to earn the flag. Thank you to Catherine from the Health Promoting Schools Initiative and everyone who attended the event.
Nature Walk
We had a lovely sunny day for our nature walk in Kilcash woods last week. Pupils from 3rd to 6th were given the task of finding native hedgerow plants and trees on our walk. Health Promoting Schools Flag Raising
The HPS flag raising is taking place this Thursday the 15th of October at 1.30 pm. Parents and members of the community are invited to the school to celebrate the occasion. The committee have worked hard over the past two years promoting healthy eating and physical activity within the school.
Nature Walk
A nature walk is taking place next Thursday morning around Kilcash woods. Pupils will be leaving the school at 9.30 am. Parents and members of the community are welcome to come along.
Upcoming Blitzes
The girls are taking part in a football blitz on Wednesday the 7th October at 11.30 in Moyle Rovers. They will be playing against Lisronagh, Knockavilla, New Inn and Gaelscoil Carrick-on-Suir. The boys will be playing Templetuohy, Lisnamrock and Lisronagh in their first blitz of the school year.
