As a final farewell treat for 6th class, Ms. Whelan’s 5th and 6th class, along with parents, are climbing to the summit of Slievenamon this Monday coming. All parents are welcome to join in the hike.

Third to sixth class continued their cycling and road safety skills today as part of Active Schools Week. All lined up ready for cycling skills with Donal!
Phew, what a busy active day! First and second were out playing rounders today with Ms. Whelan.

In school today we did food tasting. We had to try different foods to see if we liked them. We tasted a variety of healthy foods and smoothies. Some of us tried celery and we thought it tasted very strong. Other people tried tuna and sweetcorn sandwiches. Today we had a very interesting and unique experience. We completed a trail in our school grounds. We had to figure out the answers to many questions. The trail involved counting, adding, subtracting, estimating, measuring, listening and observing. One of our most enjoyable experiences was finding and drawing a mini-beast. Day One: Senior students ran a mini sports day today as part of our Active School Week.
Ballyneale School will be getting even more active next week, as we’re planning a whole week of activities to promote active lives among young people.
