Junior and senior infants had their sports day today. Thank you to Ms. Whelan and John our GAA coach for setting up the activities for all the children in the school today. Thank you to Nicola and the Parents’ Association for sorting out a lovely ice lolly treat for the children.
The girls travelled to Cahir yesterday for the FAI SPAR Ireland Primary 5’s competition. The A soccer team qualified for the county final and consisted of Issy, Teigan, Jessica, Eibhlis, Anna, Emily and Anna. Our spikeball teams will represent the school at University of Limerick on Thursday the 7th March. Ms. Whelan is looking for two parents to accompany her.
The following pupils will represent the school in the Munster Swimming Gala on the 20th October – Eibhlís, Sarah, Niamh, Tegan and Grace. Best of luck to all.
Well done to all those who participated in the Cross Country in Thurles on Wednesday. Congratulations to Jessica who got an individual medal. All results are on the Tipperary Athletics website. The next cross country competition is in Marlfield on Wednesday the 24th October.
Cross country takes place for 3rd to 6th classes in Thurles on Wednesday the 26th of September.
A mixed team from 3rd and 4th class took part in a GAA Garda Blitz on Wednesday. They were up against stiff competition but never gave up. The pupils were given hot food and refreshments during the day and a certificate for their participation.
Congratulations to Sarah Bartley of 2nd class who recently won two gold medals and a silver at the Munster Athletics Championships. She will now be competing in the All Irelands on the 1st July.
