Cross Country Championship

The Primary Schools Cross Country Championship is on next Wednesday the 27th September in the Crokes Complex in Thurles.

Ballyneale is competing in Session 2 which starts at 11.30 am.  Third and fourth are competing in the 800m and fifth and sixth in the 1000m.

Pupils are asked to contribute E2 towards cost of transport.  We are grateful to the Parents Association who are generously subsidising the cost of transport.

Clonmel Athletics

Congratulations to all those who take part in the recent Athletics event in Clonmel.

Results:

Girls 3rd to 6th won the shield.

Boys 5th and 6th – A – Gold

Kool Schools & Swimming

We had a busy period in the school recently, on Wednesdays we had Kool School lessons with one half of the school while the other half went swimming.

These Kool Schools classes with Juniors – Second class has recently finished at the school.  Thanks to instructor Niall.  The children greatly enjoyed these activities.

With that said, Children from third to sixth class have completed the swimming programme.  Thanks to all the parents who helped supervise the children at the pool.

Well done to Eilish Bartley who competed in the National Finals in the National Aquatic Centre on February 12th

Athletics

Congratulations to Jack Bourke who was involved with Carrick Athletics Club last weekend in Nenagh, he was part of the relay team that placed silver in the U12 Boys 4 x 100m relay. They will now compete in the nationals in March. We wish him and his team mates the very best of luck.

Cross Country

The County Tipperary Athletic Association is holding a Primary Schools Cross Country event next Wednesday October 26th at the Marlfield GAA grounds in Clonmel. Pupils from third to sixth will be taking part, they having been training hard these past few weeks, everything is going really well.

In this competition 3rd/4th will run 600m and 5th/6th will run 800m.
