Soccer Champs

The Girls took part in 5 a-side tournament in Cahir Park on Friday February 17th. They played very well throughout the day, improving with every game. Having played Newcastle, Gaelscoil Carrick and Ardfinnan in the group stages they qualified for latter stages of the competition and beat a very good Cahir side in the semi-final. They then played Burncourt in the final game on their way to victory.

Congratulations to the girls it is nothing more than they deserved, ending the week on a high after narrowly losing out to Clerihan in the debating competition.

Cahir Park AFC Primary Schools Under 13 Tournament opening round was held today the 16th January 2017. All games were played on Cahir Park AFC’s new all weather pitch. We entered two teams into the competition. All involved enjoyed the 7-aside tournament.

Futsal

The pupils of 3rd and 4th took part in the FAI Futsal non-competitive blitz in Thurles. We were so fortunate that the weather was so mild and dry as it was held outdoors this year on an astro pitch. All involved had a great time.  All of the matches we were involved in were very exciting.

Congrats to all involved.

5 a side Soccer Competition

The 5-a-side Soccer Competition took place in Littleton on Monday.  The pupils played some wonderful football and showed great passing skills.  They came through their group but unfortunately were beaten in the final.  A big thank you to Ian Sheehan who has been training the team.  We will now look forward to training the 3rd and 4th Class pupils for their competition.
