Spikeball training is taking place after school from 3-4pm every Tuesday for 5th and 6th class. Training will take place in the school yard or in the village hall.
There is a Spikeball Blitz on January 24th (Tuesday), in Moyle Rovers. We will be entering 3 teams for this blitz. At the moment the children are busy preparing for the competition.
SPIKEBALL is an initiative developed by the Volleyball Association of Ireland to aid School Teachers in introducing Junior Volleyball to their students. Volleyball has traditionally been viewed as a difficult sport to introduce to young children, but it doesn’t have to be. SPIKEBALL is an adapted 4-player v 4-player volleyball game that was introduced to Ireland in the last 3 years and has seen participation levels increase by over 300%.
Spikeball competitions are starting again. The first competition takes place next Thursday the 14th in Moyle Rovers. A bus has been organised to bring the pupils to the event. Best of luck to the pupils in their first match of the season.
The County Finals in Spikeball take place on the 4th February in Moyle Rovers GAA Club in Fethard. This year we will have two mixed teams competing. Training takes place every Tuesday after school from 3-4pm for 3rd to 6th Class.
Spikeball training starts next Tuesday the 24th of January at 3 – 4pm for 3rd to 6th Class. The Spikeball County Competition takes place on Wednesday the 4th of February in Moyle Rovers hall. Spikeball is similar to volleyball but more suitable for primary school children. It is a really enjoyable sport that everyone can take part in.
