The Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal took place again this year. Thank you to all families who contributed towards their appeal.
Joe Hickey, father of Evan Hickey came in to the school yesterday to receive a cheque for €860 that was raised through the cake and book sale organised by The Student Council.
Joe kindly gave gifts to members of The Student Council for their hard work in organising and running the cake and book sale. We wish Evan the best of luck in his upcoming operation.

Congratulations to Genevieve who recently won in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in the Carrick-on-Suir District. She won for her poster on the theme of ‘The Future of Peace’.
Congratulations also to Alvin of 4th class who won a prize in the design a logo competition organised by Kilsheelan and Kilcash soccer club. The school also received soccer equipment as part of the prize.
The school has entered the Concern Primary Schools Debating Competition for 5th and 6th classes. In our group we will be debating against Ursuline and Mount Sion Primary Schools in Waterford. Those who are interested in participating will work on their debating skills with Mr. McHale next Wednesday the 15th after school.
In our first debate on the 21st November, Ballyneale will be opposing the motion that ‘People should be fined for not recycling’.
In our second debate Ballyneale will be proposing the motion that ‘The Goal to end world hunger will be achieved by 2030’.
Get those thinking caps on and give your ideas to 5th and 6th class pupils!
Two teams from 5th and 6th class will participate in a GAA quiz next Thursday the 16th in Monroe. Best of luck to them.
The Red Kettle drama group will bring their interactive touring play, ‘The Story that Everybody Was In’, to the school on Tuesday the 14th November. It is a highly interactive piece of theatre that incorporates audience participation and always proves to be entertaining and educational. This will be for all classes. Pupils are asked to contribute €2 to the cost.
