Past Pupils-Spikeball Success

Past pupils Ava Cooney and Keelan Hanrahan were on the Presentation Secondary school team that recently won the All-Ireland competition in Spikeball.  Congratulations to them, a great achievement.


Credit Union Quiz

Two teams will be taking part in the Credit Union Quiz in the Carraig Hotel on Friday the 26th January at 7pm.  Kate O’Hora, Jack Bourke, Jack Kinsella and Annie O’Keeffe are in the under 13 quiz, while Lucy Hanrahan, James Walsh, Zac and Issy O’Hora are in the under 11 quiz.  Best of luck to them.

Green Schools Poster Competition

Pupils are participating in the Green Schools Irish Water Poster competition.  They will be designing posters under the theme of, “Water and your Environment.”

Regional winners will receive a tablet computer and national winners receive €500 for their school.  Closing date is 2nd March.


Well done to Kate, Annie, Luke and Genevieve who proposed the motion that ‘The Goal to end world hunger will be achieved by 2030’ in the Concern Primary Schools Debating Competition which took place on Tuesday in the school against Mount Sion, Waterford.

Unfortunately we didn’t win the debate but the team certainly learned alot from their debating experience.  Well done to them for all their hard work.


There will be a spikeball competition for the senior classes on Friday the 9th February in Thurles from 10 am – 1.45pm.  Best of luck to them.


Our next debate in the Concern Primary Schools Debating Competition takes place next Tuesday the 16th in the school against Mount Sion, Waterford.  Pupils from 5th and 6th are proposing the motion that ‘The Goal to end world hunger will be achieved by 2030’.

Swimming lessons at Clonmel Swimming Pool commence next Wednesday the 17TH January for seven weeks.

The Parents’ Association will subsidise these lessons and the cost will be €30.00 per pupil. The bus will leave the school at 9.20am sharp and return approximately at 11.45am.

Children must bring the following:

  • Swim wear – some children prefer to wear this under their tracksuit when going to the pool.
  • Goggles
  • Swim hat [long hair needs to be worn up for swimming also.]
  • Swim socks – not compulsory
  • Towel – girls need to bring a towel for their hair also.
  • Spare underwear and socks
  • Warm clothing for return journey.

The children must wear a tracksuit and have with them a towel, hat, swimsuit, goggles and change of underwear.
