Red Kettle Drama

Red Kettle drama group put on their interactive touring play, ‘The Story that Everybody Was In’, in the school on Tuesday.  Pupils got a chance to become characters in the show or joined in the dialogue.  It was lots of fun.

Evan Hickey Cheque Presentation

Joe Hickey, father of Evan Hickey came in to the school yesterday to receive a cheque for €860 that was raised through the cake and book sale organised by The Student Council.

Joe kindly gave gifts to members of The Student Council for their hard work in organising and running the cake and book sale.  We wish Evan the best of luck in his upcoming operation.

Joe is pictured below with members of the Student Council and parents who kindly helped out with the fundraising event.

Concern Debating

The school has entered the Concern Primary Schools Debating Competition for 5th and 6th classes.  In our group we will be debating against Ursuline and Mount Sion Primary Schools in Waterford.  Those who are interested in participating will work on their debating skills with Mr. McHale next Wednesday the 15th after school.

In our first debate on the 21st November, Ballyneale will be opposing the motion that ‘People should be fined for not recycling’.

In our second debate Ballyneale will be proposing the motion that ‘The Goal to end world hunger will be achieved by 2030’.

Get those thinking caps on and give your ideas to 5th and 6th class pupils!
