In 2023/2024, 5th and 6th class pupils brainstormed, planned & collaborated with members of staff to create a crest that truly represented the school’s values, character and local history.
1) Slievenamon: This iconic peak serves as a powerful symbol of the area’s natural beauty and cultural significance.
2) Ballyneale Castle: Represents the rich local history in the area.
3) Hurleys & Sliotar: Depicts sport which is part of the fabric of this school.
4) Book: Denotes the value placed on education.
5) Cross: Symbolises the Catholic ethos within the school.
6) School Motto, ‘Níl bua gan dua’: There’s no win without effort, emphasis on effort.
The crest aims to reflect the school’s unique character and history while also representing the true spirit and values of Ballyneale National School.
